This past weekend we had the honor of creating custom dri-fit shirts for the team over at Ellipse Fitness, North.  Saturday was their 4 hour fitness marathon and fundraiser.  The lengthy workout included kickboxing, cardio, stretching, TRX, strength training and more.  And even better than all of the calories burned, is how much money and awareness was raised for local domestic abuse shelters, education, and prevention.

Pinterest is full of recipes for energy bites, delicious little nuggets of healthy, energy packed snacks.  They're great for pre or post workout, when you are on the run, or if you just need a quick sweet fix. We've tried so many of these recipes, and eventually have combined them all, added a few things, and reached the ideal energy bite.

Leg day has long been my favorite day.  The days following leg day are another story, but we can't let that stop us.  Like they say, Sore Today, Strong Tomorrow.

Recently, though, I have been going a little too easy on the legs (and, admittedly, everything) and they are not looking awesome.  I have the potential to have relatively large, built (possibly even bulky) legs, if done right.  But currently, they are just, well, soft.  So I am back at it.  And I want to share some of the things I have been doing.

We all love a little socializing, and with that often comes drinking.  Sunday Funday leads to Margarita Monday, Taco Tuesday, and Wino Wednesday.  And sometime we need to unwind after a long work day, or maybe we want to celebrate after work.  But drinking is full of calories.  Drinking slows your metabolism, and drinking leads to hangovers. 

Studies have shown that  the hours from 4-6 pm are best for peak athletic performance, so hit the gym instead of the bar!  Here are a few more reasons that Healthy Hour is a better idea than Happy Hour.
